After reading numerous forums and articles stating an obvious distane for Activision I was wondering how many people will still purchase COD Black Ops. I have no doubt that Black Ops will be another quality title from Treyarch, and quite possibly their best work yet.

I personally love Modern Warfare 2 and all the Infinity Ward stuff but it wasn't without its share of problems online. What really pissed me off was the pricing of the DLC. I did "choke'' down the first map pack but refused to buy the second and will not until I feel the price is justified. Sorry, but 3 new maps and 2 old remakes don't cut it in my opinion.

I find it rather disturbing that is the largest and most profitable companies (EA, Activision) that are setting these obsurd online pricing trends. So, don't get me wrong, if you love the games they make and you feel you got your moneys worth..good for you.

For everyone else who feels the same way I do, I urge you not to be naive and think that Activisions business practices will get any better with COD titles from here on out.

So, will you still go ahead and buy Black Ops knowing full well that DLC is most likely already made for the game only to be slapped on a few months later and that the pricing will probally be the same as MW2 map packs.

If so..enjoy the game. I will be spending my money on other franchises this year!

Not with those map packs. I'm not going to hop onto the band wagon and buy these over priced DLC's.

Really depends how good Black Ops is. I'm not going to say I'm not going to buy it because MW2's online was utter trash. I'll wait to see how it gets reviewed, then I'll decide whether I'll buy the game. If I enjoy the multiplayer alot, heck, I might pay for the map packs. If it's anywhere near what MW2 was though, no way in hell.

This is why I rarely play online multiplayer any more. Game publishers have started getting overly arrogant and charging outrageous amounts of money just for some stupid maps that were more than likely ready when the game came out, and then not allowing you to play public online matches without them. I hate it.

It's actually looking not too bad. I'll wait a couple of weeks after release and if I don't see all the forums spammed with people hating it, then I might buy it.

The way I see it I have two options: Black Ops Or Bad Company 2 Vietnam. I dunno if anyone played Battlefield Vietnam a while back on PC,but that game was great. No black ops. Plus Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be what 15 bucks? No brainier for me.

No, no and no. Activision has burned it's bridges with the real gamers. Buying this will only allow Activision to see how much more they can steal from people.

I play MW2 a lot. So no, cuz MW2 will still be better.

Every1 says MW2 is overrated... u may not be able to drive vehicles and create a laggy and out of order play of game online, but the gameplay is fun, fast, and satisfying, thats why ppl like MW2.

Therefore, no, black ops is going to be good, but not as good, especially because of the production team... YUCK.

Yay now only lean is missing and mods. :P Anyway i am really impressed by what they doing so far, now treyarch is making a signle product at once and not 3, its gonnna be miles better than waw, they also upgrade the graphics and focus into making a better singleplayer compaign with deeper story and a talking character that will experiance various emotions over the time with timescales and enviroments to change and also add some tactics and vehicles into the game. They are taking liberties with the game and they say the mp is gonna be diffirent with a new class creation system.

If there were dedicated servers, then there would be mods. Also lean could possibly be modded in, ifs its not in it.

Buying it day 1. From what i've heard and read this title will fix the problems that plague MW2, so anything that can deliver the fun of MW2, but without all the cheap bs, of course I will buy it.

It's an Activision game, so you're probably gonna have to wait a decade then.

im very tempted. i think cod 4 is the worst game iv eplayed this gen. i thought world at war would be worse. but i bought world at war and i had a blast playing it. wwhen i found out it was by a different dev i was awaiting to see the sequal. black ops looks like its saying screw the formula just have fun. the multiple ammo types interest me, i love how the main charecter actualy talks when playing as him. i like how its going to take place on a 10 year scale. the exploding crosbow is pure win and it just looks like it'll be the first cod to actualy do something completly of its own

I'll wait until my stupid friend buys it and I'll play it at his house. Maybe I'll barrow MW2 from him since he won't give it to me cause he doesn't play anything else.
