I've had all the Nintendo consoles so it's a pretty tough call. I loved my Super Nintendo, and I'd still argue that for its' time it had the strongest line-up of games ever. But when I had someone to play with the N64 I think I had more fun that with any other console. Those multi-player games (Mario Party, all the wrestling games, etc.) were a blast and in college we would kill hours playing those with each other.
Still I think I had to give the edge to the SNES. Multi-player or not, Square's line-up of RPGs andall the Mario games puts it a notch above any other console.
N64 FTW Between Mario Kart, Bomberman, Smash Bros, and theWrestling game by THQ. The N64 was the best party console made by Nintendo. Not to say the NES and SNES were not great systems
I'd say NES. The iconic games, what it did to revitalize the home console market, not to mention the fact that it's the only Nintendo system I have owned, so it's tough for me to vouch for another :)
The NES was (and is) the greatest Nintendo console of all time. It has the greatest line-up of games, and it's only fault was that the cartridges had to be man-handled or blown in to, to get them to function most times. The SNES would be the next best console, but it's game line-up doesn't compare to the NES, on any level.
My vote is for the NES too. The games were phenomenal, and the nostalgia is beyond awesome. It's the only Ninty console I STILL play religiously, including my Wii.
