It depends on how much you want to spend.The DSI has the newer features,but the original one is alot cheaper.I have the Original red DS and I am happy with it.Do you want the new features of the DSi?,if you can do without them then choose between a Lite or original.
Probably choose between the lite and DSi. There are newer features with the DSi but some ( me included ) don't think it's worth getting over the lite or original.
