A bunch if other games I got as game shares
Haven't played any of the new stuff, got old games, but good games to me, some of them are new, like, last year new I guess.
I will say though, that most of these I would not have started at all.
Picked up DB: Kakarot not expecting much, and indeed it is a deeply flawed game. But still kind of a joy to play.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, a couple of weeks ago. I'm burned out on this new formula, which feels so much shittier than it did seven years ago (and even the 2013 game I found mediocre). Gonna quote myself.
I've apparently played it for eight hours now. These games are such horseshit. It frustrates me, because I believe Tomb Raider could be an escapist wet dream, if they only removed 80 percent of the (shitty) story and talking, kept the world more in the realm of cartoony fantasy and made the puzzle platforming more linear and classical. It could just be about you and the fantastic solitary environments, with any gunplay usually being against monsters, ancient guardians and hostile wildlife. Only occasionally would there be humans. I would dump those blasted climbing axes and just make Lara more acrobatic again. Probably make the platforming less automated, by which I mean reducing the range at which she will magnetize against surfaces you leap towards and making the player grab them again. I don't get what gamers find so appealing about games doing so much for them. The rope machine introduced before the 2013 reboot was a cool idea. Keep that. The 2013 reboot had Lara dual wielding pistols at the very end as if it was supposed to be some kind of origin story. The new gunplay is incredibly dull and the upgrade system is almost completely wasted with how little action there is in Shadow. Drop both. Just give me one two-handed gun on her back and an infinite supply of ammo for the dual pistols. The action (when it's there, meaning not too often) should be fast and stylish.
The new Lara is such an unlikable wet blanket. I do appreciate the more human anatomy, but I preferred her in shorts and I want her coolness and sass back.
These open world collect-a-thons are so damn dull, and idea of making Lara vulnerable and putting her in emotional peril was always fucking stupid.
the last one I bought was a Picross RPG that was on sale for the Switch. It really isn't very good, barely played it ...
Finally have my physical special edition of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim! Not only have I been waiting years for this game, but Atlus also made a lot of stocking errors for the title, and that was further worse for those going for the edition with the artbook. My pre-order has been on pending error since its release late 2019 and only today got my copy.
Won't spoil, will simply state in my short time seems Vanillaware has yet again made something pretty awesome.
I bought myself an Oculus Quest. I bought it to play Half-Life Alyx. This game, like boneworks, makes a big breakthrough in the development of game development. virtual reality app development company also help develop virtual reality. I really hope that in the near future most games will support VR from the start of sales. https://servreality.com/virtual-reality-apps-vr/
Borderland 3, and I absolutely love it! Haven't been into gaming for ages but now getting back into it.
I ordered a Switch with the gray controller. Along with Astral Chain. Hopefully should tide me over until Animal Crossing comes out.
Picked up NBA playgrounds 2 for £6. Missing an arcade style basketball game obviously the micro transactions spoil it but decent for what it is.
Tony Hawk's Underground 2
LOTR The fellowship of The ring, The Third Age, The Two Towers & The Return of The King.
All for PS2.
Pre-ordered Animal Crossing: New Horizons from EB Games. Should come with a pre-order bonus keychain too...not a necessity but little things like that are nice from time to time.
Hoping it arrives on the release day. Could even arrive a day earlier which is always a treat.
One perk of living here in Aus is being able to play most games before the majority of the rest of the world.
Way of the Passive Fist
grabbed it during the holiday sale because Luigi's Mansion 3 was kind of boring me out.
Plus if anything is known about me here I really like parrying in my games. It's one of my favorite gaming mechanics (when done well)
This is one of my favorite indie games, it plays more like a rythm game than a beat em up, but it is very cool and there is really nothing like it on the market
@pook99: Helps that rhythm games are also one of my personal favorites, been playing them since school years. I rarely bring them up here because majority seem to come down pretty hard on the genre whenever it's mentioned.
For me if you enjoy parries in any game with depth, you would be good at rhythm games, and for the opposite as well.
Bloodstained Ritual of The Night on PS4, I played it on Xbox One via Game Pass so decided it to get on PS4 since it was on sale for $23. Been enjoying it as it's the closest to a new 2D Castlevania SOTN successor and awesome.
