Video-game based movies

I wouldn't count FF7:AC, because it's not based on a video game, it's the sequel to a video game and it uses a story that was designed to fit the film format.

I'd have to say... Mortal Kombat or Doom.

Agreed. It was Resident Evil 3 alright.

Doom was fun but ridiculous: it had nothing to do with Doom, it was so... Doomless...

I would have to say Resident Evil

mortal kombat, had the crazy ninja's, all the characters had correct origins etc. Hitman and Resident evil are quite good too, though re:extinction took it a little far...
