I didn't play the originals of a lot of those, but they got things right with Ninja Gaiden and Battletoads. I want to give that another shot because my brother and I didn't beat that one stage with the blocks that had to be jumped over.
I did end up beating DMC3 on that "Japanese hard mode" they talked about. They aren't kidding...It took me 1 day to beat the 1st boss! I will never feel that much pride for beating a game ever again.
