What do you think is the scariest game you've ever played, i played dead space and I don't think it was that scary, whereas fear 1 didn't do a bad job.

Well now I know I'm not the only who found Dead Space not-scary. The scariest game I've played is Silent Hill Origins. Yeah I said it. Now Ima go get the other 5.

FEAR was scary throughout, while Dead Space was scary for about the first 1/2, maybe 3/4.

Actually now that I think about it, playing Dead Space on the hardest difficulty with next to no ammo and health AND on the last level is pretty tense. I had to fight off a brute with like 6 pulse rounds left.

Not real into the horror genre, so probably just Bioshock or Re5.

I agree, the game is a lot more intense on the hardest difficulty. But at the same time getting dragged away by a tentacle monster can only scare you so many times.

I'd say Resident Evil and Dead Space. Both of those games have plenty of spots that make you jump.

Definetly Dead Space. Althugh Condemned is a close second. BUt I admit that I haven't played Silent Hill (the gameplay seems mind-numbing). As for FEAR, Doom and other "scary" games like those - I found clipping my toenails scarier then them. Although Doom 3 had a few "boo" moments nailed down pretty tight.

Fatal Frame it is! You gotta believe! But yeah, I'll put The Suffering in second place. It's not always "scary" but thrilling till the bitter end!

Morrowind. Entering some rooms, those ghosts really scared me when I was younger, especially when they came out of nowhere.

Shadowgate sent me running out of the room into my mom's arms when I was a kid. The death scene of the Grim Reaper coupled with the music was too much for my four-year-old brain to handle. Besides that, there's: - Clock Tower. This game did a pretty good job of freaking me out. I'm sure it would be boring to play it now, but at the time, there was nothing like it. - Silent Hill 4: The Room. The actual game ended up not being that scary, but the trailer was creepy. - Eternal Darkness: As a whole, the game didn't scare me. However, there was a point in the game when you start hearing loud, frantic pounding noises on a wooden door. Something about that gave me the willies.

Dead Space, not many games make me nervous, but Dead Space was seriously nerve-wracking for the entire time I played it. I love scary games, only wish there was more on next generation consoles.

Not F.E.A.R.... it's just creepy, not scary. Creepy is where there's creep you out but most of the things that "scare" you don't actually affect gameplay. (those flying torso ghosts aren't scary).

Dead Space? Well, it's a lot more shocking than scary, though the terrifying atmosphere combined with the excellent sound effects definitely make the game scary.

Bioshock? NO. Bioshock isn't scary at all, just atmospheric.

World at War Nazi Zombies? *Insert violent laughing fit here* SCARY? No.

That's what I've played... never tried any other scary games. Halo's Flood aren't scary, and will never count as scary. They are, at best, frightening....ly annoying.

Fatal Frame 2. Although, Clock Tower freaked me out a long time ago. Most games don't scare me much though, but I do love me some games with a creepy atmosphere (Eternal Darkness, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc).

Easily Eternal Darkness and Silent Hill 3, as those were the only games that got me so freaked out I had to turn them off. In Eternal Darkness, there was one scene in particular that I'll never forget involving the main character and a bathtub. And in SH3, the exploding mannoquin and the dolls left by the stalker in hospital were just as memorable. I loved Dead Space but it didn't really scare me as much as the previously mentioned games. It was just an awesome game.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly, by a country mile. That game had perfect atmosphere for it's time. Ghosts can be surprisingly scary when used right, and this series uses them right. I'm STILL pissed at NoA for not bringing Fatal Frame 4 over. Why make a big deal about getting involved with the game and then abandon it and leave it Japan only? Siren: Blood Curse is pretty intense as well, due to the utterly fantastic presentation, especially when playing as the kid in the hospital.

I managed Fatal Frame 2. The first game creeped me out so much that a couple of times I had to get up and turn the lights on. I just gave up on it. :P

While the game itself isn't a horror game the cradle level in Thief: Deadly Shadows was by far the scariest level in any game ever.
