Finally, we have an official confirmation. :)

Meh, I disapprove of the rabble getting access to my much vaunted NEOGEO games.aspro73
I'm just happy to see the market value get undermined.
They give no date :(gaminggeek
I'm guessing it's sooner than later, considering they hit Japan this month and we've done a pretty good job of keeping up with Japan lately. They need to do something better than this one-game-per-week release format they're doing in Japan though. Whenever a new system is introduced to VC, it should have a sort of focus week where there are more games released than usual and they're all for that system.
Fatal Fury by itself (the current plan) will make a terrible first impression to those who missed the NeoGeo the first time around, but if they could come out with Fatal Fury/World Heroes/Magician Lord/Crossed Swords/Pulstar, then they'd be in a position to give off a much better immediate idea of what NeoGeo was all about.
Lol, I still remember how much I craved Fatal Fury and Viewpoint back then. I would very happily buy Garou, Last Blade 2 and the latest Showdowns again. Oh, and Last Resort, probably. Oh, and Metal Slug. Daaamn.

I read that the japanese date had slippled and it's now unspecified.
I dont like the pricing on the games, however im interested in buying some as I want some more shoot em ups and I want to see what the neo geo was all about.GodModeEnabled
I agree. Charging $9 for those games is a bit much, considering how XBLA seems to be offering them for only $5.

I bet the decision went like this:
Suit 1: We need to find a price for our NeoGeo games for Virtual Console.
Suit 2: Hmm, 500 points?
Suit 1: No, that's the same price as NES games. NeoGeo is waaay more powerful than that system.
Suit 2: Yeah, that would be dumb. Well, SNES games go for 800, and N64 games go for 1000 pts. . .
Suit 1: Hmm, Neo Geo is more powerful than SNES, but not as powerfull as N64 . . .
Suit 2: We could just price our games between them at 900 points?
Suit 1: Effing Brilliant! Make is so.
