I hate the store but its just so convenient for me to walk into a small store and have every game I want 2 feet away from me....I hate driving down to the local Best Buy, walk 100 yards and browse through a crappy selection of games.

Eh. I buy most of my games online. I don't see the obsession with GameStop. But I guess if it's your most convenient option, then whatever. There are plenty of places I can go and pay full price for games. I'll often buy used, so GameSpot is definitely a terrible option for me.
well of course it isn't, since PS4 really has no games you can get every game you want from Gamestop.
my name is a sarcastic one. don't take it literally.
I mostly buy digital but if I am buying physical I have a couple apps on my phone so I know what stores have it, and which do not. If gamespot comes up cheapest I go there. However I do make sure to get a sealed copy. If its gutted I do not buy it because once the store has opened it its not new in my book.
No. But you do have to be aware of their practices and more often than not go to a real retail store, if you want a sealed game.

And why do you hate the store?
But no of course its not wrong to buy games , if thats the only store or the one most convenient and they dont rip you off with bad customer service, then why wouldn't you go there.
I don't really mind the gamestop, but i don't solely just buy my games there if it is cheaper somewhere else. Unfortunately it's the only place i can trade my games in here in europe
Not really. I don't get why people say GameStop has bad customer service. The one in my town has always been great to me, and I've been shopping there for seven years.

they always try to shove more crap down your throat.
If you want a used game, better off just using Craigslist. Either find someone selling what you want or post the game you want and what you'll pay. As long as you're willing to pay them more than Gamestop is, someone is likely to sell to you.
Of course it's not wrong to buy games at Gamestop. It's not wrong to buy games anywhere unless they're overpriced as hell. I don't support Gamestop because I heard they practice some really messed up business methods. I heard from former employers on youtube and in person. People I used to work with who used to work for Gamestop told me that if something is packaged with a game which does not meet their terms of partnership, then they are literally instructed to throw whatever that may be in the trash and sell the game at full price. The biggest offense was Deus Ex Machina when they found a coupon from Square in the packaging and opened every single copy of the game and put the coupon in the trash. They also treat their employees like thieves. One of my old coworkers told me that he would be patted down when he had to go on break or on lunch. The employees are also instructed to destroy whatever is too old or whatever does not sell. They will take controllers and cut the wires or smash them before throwing them in the trash. They do the same for games. Sometimes they shatter the discs or they just throw them in the trash.
I buy my games from amazon or ebay and I am more than satisfied using these websites to get my games rather than going to my local Gamestop. I personally wouldn't mind if that company closed it's doors tomorrow and never opened them again.
Its certainly isn't wrong to buy from them. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is an asshat.
Major asshat reporting for duty. Gamespot is a detriment to the games industry. Hence, it's something that shouldn't be encouraged.
You probably shouldn't be on these forums if you think Gamespot is such a detriment.
Just remember that if you dislike Gamestop, basically the worst thing you can do to them is go there to buy all your games new, and simply say "no" when they offer you disc protection or whatever.
Dude, buy your games whever you want man, seriously just find the cheapest price and buzz kill it. Hell if gamestop is the easiest place for you to buy your games, then just go for it man!
I sometimes get games there is there is sale or they offer exclusive. I go into GameStop in mall all the time still though. The lady who works there is nice and me and my wive talk to her sometimes for like 30 min on life and recipes and whatever lol.
I've never had a problem with Gamestop. New games cost the same everywhere. If they only have that last gutted copy, I don't buy it. When they ask if I want the protection or to pre-order another game, I just say no, thank you. If the used game at Gamestop is cheaper than amazon/ebay plus shipping plus wait time, I buy it there.
Trade-in prices do suck, but I don't have many other choices in my area. However, I don't really trade stuff in. And their used game prices, on older stuff, is not bad. I think the complaints come from people trying to get a used copy of a new release. "Infamous 2 came out two weeks ago, let me get a used copy. $55?! Gamestop is a thief!!!"
