Home country of Niko Bellic? Any guesses?

If he said it in the game, then I missed it. All I know is that he isn't Russian. I want to go with Ukraine, but I could be mistaken. Anyone know?

I just completed one of those "meet people" missions off the street and in the conversation to the check point Niko was talking to the nutjob. Anyway, the guy said something along the lines of, "by your accent I'm guessing you are from Eastern Europe. Maybe Belgrade?" Niko then replies, "Very good, you must be very smart." I am pretty sure the guy said Belgrade, but I could be wrong. I know it began with a B, though. Niko's sarcasm might have been in answer to the Eastern European guess, but I think it was a reply to the more specific country.
