Hey hardcore gamers. I bet you aren't good at sports games.

I see all these hardcore gamers who have completed every video game and topped every class in WOW and COD. But, guess what games you suck at. The ones you complain about very much! Sports games.

Yes, we all know that sports games are the same thing every year and they are very bland and overly realistic.

But that's not the point. Sure you beat Dark Souls. But I bet you can't beat 5 matches in Madden. These games are hard and take lots of practice. Trust me. And they have so many ways to play and take lots of quick thinking and dexterity. Saying that you are nerd who plays video games is not an excuse.

I used to play 6 stars PES and top class FIFA a while ago, before losing interest in football.

Been good at sports games is nothing to brag about. If I want to play sports, I'll go out and do it instead of sitting on my ass at home. When playing a video game I'm more interested in experiencing something I can't do IRL.

You're right. I was good at NBA Jam on my Genesis and Game Gear but that's it aside from arcade racers. But then, why would I practice at a genre I generally don't enjoy?

Yeah I suck at sports games. I can barely get out of bed in the morning.

I am, but I'm part of that rare breed that loves sports and video games.

You just said they are bland and boring, why the hell should I bother playing those games? if I wanted to I can get better at a game and possibly win 5 matches in a row, do I want to though? no, games are supposed to be enjoyable, and there is nothing enjoyable about sports games, I'd rather play the actual sport in real life.

I kinda get why you made this, but I'd much rather participate in sports activities then play them on a video game.

The reason I don't play sports games outside of racing are

• I am playing against the computer
• I will always win
• It doesn't change

Nhl 94 on the Genesis is amazing. The 16bit era had the best sports games. Mutant League Hockey is great. Wayne Gretsky 3D. Nba Live 95.

I like sports games for their balance. Local player vs player.

The new Maddens have gotten needlessly complex imo.

I was unaware that "hardcore gamers" does not include people who are hardcore sports gamers...

Setting aside the fact that I find the whole "hardcore gamer" term and category a bit "full of it"...

it seems like there are as varied categories of "hardcore gamer" as their are genres of games. I really doubt everyone is a "harcore gamer" about everything EXCEPT sports. Seems much more likely that person A is hardcore about FPS, B is hardcore about FPS and Fighting games, C is hardcore about Sports and Racing, D is hardcore about Sports and Fighting, E is hardcore about Strategy and FPS, F is... you get the point. Just people who are super intense about whatever genres they happen to like

I have always been really good at sports games actually. I just get sick of them and quit around the twentieth game.

Yep I am not good at sports games, along with Racing/driving games. Those are my worst Game genres. But it is impossible to be good at every game genre. I am best at Shoot them ups, Fighting games, Third and first person shooters, But even though I am not good at sports games. I do enjoy playing them once and a while. Once I was even able to enjoy a football game I found in the throw a way discount bin for $0.25 and lost 29-32 but I was surprised I somewhat liked it.

I am worst at driving games. But I do enjoy playing every now and then. Out of the 30 or so Videogame genres no one can be great at all of them. Even the once I am terrible at I enjoy playing. With the exception of music games. Which I is my worst genre. I cannot play guitar hero to save my life.

They update the rosters, the menus, the soundtrack, the online features, and the graphics every year just like any other game, if anything they change the most.

I'm not good at sports games. If I wanted to play a sport, I would play the real thing not a simulation. The fact that it's annual doesn't help matters.

If I wanted to play Skyrim, I would go out and slay dragons with the help of my magical powers instead of a simulation, but I can't do that. I can't play sports either.

@EPICCOMMANDER: The difference being that Skyrim is 100% fictitious and sports games are based on sports I could play with my friends in real life. I never said play them professionally. Just play them. you're right, I'm not athletic. But if I wanted to play basketball, I'd go to a court with my friends, not play a simulated version.
