Out of all the games for Playstation, I think that Final Fantasy 7 is the best hands down. With Soul Reaver in second place.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver for me.. Metal Gear Solid and Final fantasy Tactics are up there online. I wasn't a fan of either but enjoy the MGS gamecube remake. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is my second but it wasn't really revolutionary I just love eet.
for the original PS, I feel the greatest games are Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Die Hard Trilogy, Ace Combat 2, Crash Bandicoot, and Twisted Metal.
XenoGears, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy IX, VIII, Metal Gear Solid. All those titles offered great gameplay, replay value, story and characters.
Resident Evil 2 was my favorite
also really liked Twisted Metal 2, the Crash Bandicoot games, Tekken 2, Metal Gear Solid
Legend of Legaia, it was really great game. Same as Xenogears, and Final Fantasy VII.DeafNYCPlayer
I agree with you. Noa's story almost made me cry (and that says a lot about a game).
I'd say Ape Escape. It was a fun game with great music, nice environments, and a unique control scheme. The controls by themselves helped make the game fun. That's a feat that isn't done very easily.DevilBorgi was totally gona say the same thing
Kings Field needs a reboot.. I had so much fun with the first one for not really making it anywhere at all. I read some interview a long time ago, More legacy of kain will come. The interviewed was someone from Eidos, said that it would be crazy not to utilize that IP because it has a healthy fan base. It's just a matter of time.
Legend of Legaia was awesome but I didn't finish it, forgot about that one. My little brother sort of spoiled it for me.
Mega Man X4-X6 and Mega Man Legends where in my collection too.
definitely had the most fun with Chrono Cross. AllicrombieI got no where with that one either. I sucks at video games with big worlds. Except FF7 and 8 dominated them.
Kula World wins hands down on replay value alone, I just can't fight that compulsion to complete that one level that bugs me.

Any one of the Spyro games, I'd say. I put tons of hours in on those games way back in the day. So much so, in fact, that I played through them multiple times -- with each playthrough getting a 100% completion on them, no less. Those games were great.
I know two people that started playing videogames because of Final Fantasy 7. So it was a very important starting title for the orginal Playstation. Your kinda right in a way. FF7 is arguable the greatest Playstation 1 title. or a least a major turning point in playstation history. I'm not the greatest Square Enix fan. But I liked this game. 1997 seems like a very long time ago. But FF7 was an important milestone for the gaming industry.
