I'm looking for a good multiplayer game that's fun to just screw around in. Maybe something like GTAV, but less getting shot at 100% of the time so there's time to just do nothing but explore or troll others. Maybe something like Minecraft that isn't Minecraft?

Any ideas?

And it has to be available on PC too.

You're kind of vague of what you want. Do you want an open world game?

@The_Last_Ride: I think so, yeah. And I was being vague because I'm open to suggestions from pretty much any kind of game

Well there are a lot of mmo's that fulfill your need there. As for just multiplayer games the only one i know is pretty fun is GTA V Online. You could try out a few shooters. But i am mainly a console gamer. Diablo III is also a good choice. But i am more of a singleplayer kind of guy tbh

Archeage has "mess around" written all over it, but you have to get a beta invite (pretty sure you can actually pay for one if you're that desperate - you do get in game items in return). Naval combat, castle sieges, open gameplay with a justice system. Stories of people out in the water on a rowboat needing directions and getting robbed by other players. People starting their own settlements and having to band together to defend them or risk other players coming in and taking it for themselves. Haven't tried it myself but it definitely sounds like something to keep an eye on.

@Ish_basic I'll check that out

@speedfreak48t5p I hear those are like GTA, but even more WTF

@FragSponge Looking for something a little less serious and hardcore. Something easier to get started in

I'm very disappointed in myself, because I'm seriously considering Minecraft... How little respect how little respect do you need to have for yourself before you sink that low?

Hmm, you name GTA V but then at the bottom mention PC? GTA V isn't on pc so what do you want?

But there are plenty of online games out there you can "mess around in" mmos like wow, eso, wildstar, the bad wow/eso clone Archeage and there are plenty of mp games Jc2 mp, CoD, BF4, DayZ, 7daystodie, H1Z1, Arma3.

@sukraj I've tried it, but I played it after I played GTAV, so, like GTAIV, it just feels inferior.

@jeager_titan I've been thinking about that one. Looked like a lot of fun when they played it on the Shaun Method

@Jacanuk I meant something like GTAV with the open world aspect, not GTAV specifically.

I'm thinking Space Engineers. Has anyone played that?

Chivalry Medieval Warfare is a pretty fun online game. It's not open-world, neither can you really mess around but I really had a great time playing it either seriously or just trolling around. I think It's free for the weekend on steam if you wish to try it out.

I endorse this 100%. Especially Saints Row 3 and 4. Such nice easy games and you can mess around in the a ton. You rarely die in cheap deaths like in GTA so lots of fun here. I haven't tried multiplayer in them though, maybe some day i will.

I am unsure if the games have competitive mutiplayer but I do know it has Co-op which should be blast.

I'll look into Saint's Row more.

I'll pick up Garry's Mod when it goes on sale for $2.50
