Strong set of nominees. Aside from ME3 for GOTY, any of the nominees winning their category would strike me as reasonable.

I still haven't gotten to the full game of Virtue's Last Reward (shakes fist at Persona 4: The Golden) but I enjoyed the demo and it seems to be popping up on a ton of favorites lists.

I love 3 of those games on the GOTY year list but even so it seems like a pretty weak list for some reason.

I imagine that category, as well as downloadable game award, will be a two-horse race between The Walking Dead and Journey.

Looks like the indie games, or at least games that didn't have billion-dollar market campaigns, are dominating the nominations this year. Is this normal for the GDC? The last time I seriously followed them was the year they gave Best Handheld Game to Phantom Hourglass. Not that I disagree, it's just I kinda forgot about them after that. Glad to see Spec Ops: The Line get nominated for best narrative, though.

Not sure I agree with ME3 being nominated for best narrative or GOTY, but otherwise good list.
