I just realised that starting on the 5th of November, in the next 4-5 weeks there are 14 games on PC, & X360 that I want. What the hell am I going to do? Even if I bought one a week, it would take me almost 4 months to get them all.

I fear there will be a gaming drought after all these great games come out, and I better pace myself. What do you think; more great games to come, or long drought after Xmas?

i wouldnt say a drought. but it does tend to slow down alot after christmas. but its not like you would have time to play all those games so fast anyways, or afford them.

There isn't going to be a gaming drought anytime soon.

Awesome games are going to be released all throughout now up until Christmas. And then it's going to start strong again at the beginning of the new year. I believe it is said that major releases will be happening consistently up until April of next year. Then things will start to slow down a little bit. The reason there isn't going to be a drought in the beginning of the new year is because a lot of games that got post poned that wanted to be out before Christmas won't be ready until afterwards, leaving us with a nice treat for the new year.

I sure hope there's a gaming drought, because I need time to play all these damn games.

Haven't you heard? Gamers only purchase and play games in the months leading up to Christmas. It's impossible for a game to do well in any other month. The only way to sell your game to to sandwich it between a copy of Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed.

Previously i couldn't stand the gaming drought months but this year/ Gen I'm happy for it and a chance to (try) and catch up with the games that I can't afford over the Christmas period.

This time of year is always the most hectic when it comes to new releases. Things tend to slow down after Christmas but January and Febuary of 2008 are going to have somw hot games coming out as well. My problem is always that there are so many games that I want but I don't have the time to play all of them. I usually play catch up from March all the way in to the summer.

While I'm interested in buying about 10 games this year, I'm only buying two of them: Metroid Prime 3 (which I just picked up) and Super Mario Galaxy. My sister will probably buy me another game for Christmas. That's all I'll need for the next three to four months. The other's I'll pick up eventually over the next year or so. One game a month is plenty for me, so I never experiance a "gaming drought."

I feel the same. Theres just too many games all coming out at the same time to get them all. So im gonna buy 1 or 2 at a time and finish them before I get any others.

Unless it is an RPG from one of the smaller publishers (NIS, Mastiff, Atlus etc...) you are better off waiting until you are ready to play before buying these blockbusters since they are always easy to find later and of course much much cheaper.

It's hard to fight the hype, but if you can wait you can save some serious money.

Even though I always promise myself I'll wait, I seldom do it. I just can't resist a hot, new game.

Since many titles coming in the first 2008 quarter,I´m wondering how I get the money together.Even the games out now eat all up...and thee are many missing in my collection. After April it will have it´s shortcomings, but since until then we get more games then we can play (and pay) I say it will be not that bad.

I try not to buy over 5 games a month.

When I can't afford all the games I want I buy in order of importance:

  1. Must have games (Like 2-3 games a year, been anticipating for a while)
  2. Hard to find games ( games like Atlus games, re-releases of 2D fighters, unpopular niche games)
  3. Cheap games (I tend to buy a lot of these. Like DS games or really old unpopular games I missed out on)
  4. Expensive games(The games I want to buy, but I can live without em. PS3 and 360 games. Collector's editions)

Good point guys, even if you finish 1 new game every 2 weeks, you will be busy for about 6 months. And it looks like Too Human is back on track for next year again.

Santa's big fat jolly ass, better bring a big fat sack, full of gaming goodies!
