What is your favorite unreal tournament? I'm assuming everyone is gonna say the dreamcast one but I could be wrong. Now I'm playing 99 on my laptop and I'm gonna say it's my favorite so far.
I have played 2003, and i've got 2004 but there's a simplicity and fluidity to UT99 that went missing in the sequels. I run an Instagib server from time to time and am never short of people willing to play!
My favorite was probably UT 2003. I thought they implemented vehicles into the action nicely, and then UT 2004 was like a complete version of the game. There were also some cool mods for both, and they were the first I ever played online.
I find the jumping and shooting stuff in 99 the most fun. But I haven't really given 2004 it's fair shake. Played a bit of III. It's... okay, but yeah. Not as good as the others.
I liked unreal tournament 3 the most shame its community is pretty much dead on pc and sales weren't so good so we might never get a new unreal tournament :(
2004 was excellent although the console game Unreal Championship 2 was pretty damn good as well. Very innovating game that most people never got a chance to play.
UT GOTY '99 would be my favorite, mainly because it's a pure, undiluted shooter that is extremely easy to get into, and extremely hard to master. Secondly, it still has a healthy community online, unlike 2k3, 2k4 and UT 3.
