I can't recall the last time I got stuck in a game from missing something in a quest or anything like that (because I'm a firm believer in saving every step of the way, then going back and deleting the saves you know you no longer need) .
And it's been a really long while since I've gotten stuck on a console game due to it not going any further into the game from freezing or what not. I have been lucky enough that it won't even make it to the start menu before it freezes on me.
Yeah, I get stuck. Usually taking a break helps out. What I find sucks the most is how my ocassionaly I'll reach a point where my first attempt at a task was my best try, and I just keep getting worse every time I try after that. That's usually my queue for taking a break.ebbderelict
Sounds like you may get frustrated easily when you don't accomplish something. One of my nephew's has the problem. If he doesn't accomplish something on the first try, he becomes easily aggrivated with it and his skill in whatever it is he is doing rapidly declines as he gets even more frustrated. If this is the case, I think the only thing you can do is to just take a quick break, refresh your mind and get the game off of it for a few minutes and then go back in full force.
Happened to me several times already:
- Prince of Persia 1 (a level where I could never clear the jump to a closing gate in time)
- UFO: enemy unknown (researching bug: researching in a certain order caused you to get stuck)
- Lost files of holmes - the case of the serrated scalpel (at a couple of points in this game)
- Vampire the masquerade - the redemption (had to resort to a walkthrough)
- Blood Omen 2 (well, stuck without a walkthrough that is)
- Neverwinter Nights1 (at least I think I got stuck)
