Check out the video here.

I love it. F.E.A.R. had some incredible firefights, but Monolith seems to be taking it to a whole new level with the sequel. The environmental destruction and interactivity, more varied level and enemy design, more slow motion blood-splattering...yes, please.

Your thoughts?

Wow! I have to confess to being a F.E.A.R. hater, but wow... that looks really good.

Not impressed. It looks like every other Monolith game.

You played the PS3 version?

As for the trailer, just what I loved about the original but this one is looking more destructive. I loved the weapons in the original, can't wait to see what new weapons they'll bring to the table.

I played the demos for the 360 and PS3 versions and they just didn't do it for me. I've heard many people stick up for it, so I'm sure it was good. The demo just didn't grab me.

Despite being the same game, the way FEAR plays on PC vs. the consoles makes all the difference. After playing the demo on one of my friend's 360s, I can see how someone wouldn't like the game.

It really is different. I havn't gotten around to buying FEAR, but I've played the computer demo, about 100 times, and got pretty scared the first time.
Then I played the Xbox's demos. It fun, but... Just not very scarey, and no where near as fun or good looking as the computer version.

I agree. I can play this game on my computer very well and one day i was bored so i downloaded the 360 version off of XBL and i couldn't even finish the demo. It was wayyy to slow and the graphics were horrible. It was probably the worst thing i have ever played for the 360 so you should try the PC version again and see if you like it.

Awesome footage, I hope they get the console versions right this time. I only played the X360 version, but the demo's controls felt really off in comparison to not only the PC original, but the average console fps.

Looks cool, but TBH it looked a lot like the first FEAR as well. The battles were larger though which is very cool. I hope the environment interaction is even greater than in the first one as well, the ability to blow through thin walls would be very welcomed, for example.

Looks like they've opened up the enviroments a lot more (One of my main complaints from the first one was the cramped corriders) and the mech suit thing looks interesting. The graphics arent amazing, but everything else looks solid.

Wow, you're right. That's the first I've seen of actual gameplay footage and it looks amazing! F.E.A.R. was an excellent game, and I was going to play through it again.. amazing firefights and overall excellent atmosphere. Project Origin looks to build on that intensity and take it to a whole new level, as you said. The new environments look very interesting as well.

Awesome! I loved the first game and still really want to get the expansion pack and give that a go so this game is certainly a no-brainer for me to pick up.

Looks good: don't like the blood, orthe iron sights aiming, though. Hopefully the gunfights are just as kick ass as the first( without maybe getting so repetative)

Anyone notice the scope getting stained with blood? Lots of detail in this one.

I think the thing about FEAR that ruined it for me was that all these reviews were saying the game has this awesome horror story and tons of scares when in reality it was a bunch of cheap shocks and a story that took the most cliche parts from Ringu and Final Fantasy 7.

Another thing that threw me off was the reuse of corridors and textures and how weak most of the guns felt.

I've been keeping a skeptical eye out on Projct Origin but so far it hasn't moved me.

It looks like this game features some great shoot outs and that is really what I loved about the original F.E.A.R., not the story or cheap attempts at horror that smerlus mentioned. I just hope that they try to mix the environment up a bit more with this one. Seeing the same drywall texture again and again made the game sort of redundant.

If this game is more open than the original F.E.A.R. I might consider it. The first was too linear for me.
