Handful of Splinter Cell games are on sale on Steam. I have never played a game in this franchise. Which one is best, in your opinion? Not sure if story is a big part of these games. Or if it is just gameplay.

Splinter Cell (original)

Blacklist

Conviction

Chaos Theory

Double Agent

I never cared for the story. The gameplay is awesome.

My list:

1. Chaos Theory

2. Original

3. Pandora Tomorrow

I played Double Agent and that was a let-down for me. It turned me off from trying the newer ones so I can't say anything about them.

don't think pandora tomorrow is available via steam.

the original hasn't aged terribly well. it's a bit clunky but still has its moments if you can put up with the old school graphics.

regardless the answer to the question is chaos theory. always chaos theory.

if you like modern ubisoft games like far cry 3/4, assassin's creed, watch dogs etc you'll likely enjoy blacklist. i'm not a big fan personally

Chaos Theory is one of my most memorable games i've ever played. immersive experience!

when i think about it, why ubisoft isn't making a new Splinter Cell game instead of the new shit they making every year...

Chaos Theory, there's no doubt about it: right at the peak of Ubisoft's decade of excellence.

Blacklist is my absolute favorite personally , though Chaos Theory is the best game that stays true to the original vision.

So for me it's:

Blacklist

Chaos Theory

Pandora Tomorrow

Double Agent

Splinter cell

Conviction

Blacklist has the most variety and allows you to play your way, CT is a timeless game. Pandora is great (the first game just improved) and 360 version double agent is dope as well. Conviction is the worst actual game but has a decent story and is the last game with Michael Ironside.

Hmm, Best is Conviction, Chaos Theory, The orginial.

Worst is without adoubt Blacklist, what a absolute horrible idea to make it open world with forced co-op.

Chaos theory, original and then pandora tomorrow are my favorite stealth games of all time. The PC versions of first two still look pretty good to this day (imo) with some simple tweaks and chaos theory doesn't really require much tweaking.

Chaos Theory, Original, Pandora Tomorrow in that order. Chaos Theory was the best by a long, long, LONG shot

the others do not exist. Do not even mention Double Agent to me. Conviction was...OK. Blacklist needs to burn in fire.

yup, if there was ever a way to make a game painful, that would be it. And then they threw in those stupid challenges and arenas or whatever the hell you want to call them. Earning favor and rank and crap. Just give me a compelling campaign, OK? Write a damn story, earn that Tom Clancy name, dammit.

Chaos Theory seems to be the consensus winner.

Game is $2.50 on Steam. Guess I will give it a shot. :)
