Best PS1 Games

I recently hooked up my old PS1 the other day to play Klonoa as its my favourite game of all time and I haven't payed it in years. Anyway since I have it here can anyone recommend classic games that I should play. Bear in mind I was young when I first got it and pretty much only played Crash Bandicoot and stuff like that.

pshsshhhh.... FFVIII (that's ff8 for roman numeral illiterates...) is by far the best FF game in my opinion (and its somewhat easier to find than FFVII)....

but still... your'e going to have a tough time finding it in stores or for a reasonable price online...

Like the PS2, the PSX has an endless bag of astounding titles. Find what you can at the right price. Sadly, you're a little late to the party.

My favourites - Driver, Spyro, Tomb Raider, GTA, Ape Escape, WipeOut, Ridge Racer, Discworld & DW Noir, Broken Sword, FF, Resident Evil(those doors and stairs were damn creepy :shock: ), Oddworld, PaRappa... I could go on forever :P

Theres the sequels to a few of them aswell, but I couldnt be bothered adding them :lol:

When I'm in the mood to challenge friends to a quality video game, I bust out the CTR for PS1. (It is also used in arguments with my family members) I'm cheap though, I only use the baby Tiger.

A must play is tomb raider 1 and 2. They r both great,great games with a good story,great puzzles, and really fun to play. Resident evil 1 and 2 both r great.Very tense,great puzzles and really sucks u in[ despite the crap voice acting in number 1 :D].Resident evil 3 is also great but not one of my favorite.:)mojomikey

I agree. Tomb Raiders 1 and 2 are some of the best. I prefer Tomb Raider 2 though becuase of Italy and the music is also great. When it comes to the Resident Evils yeah I also liked the first and second games over the third one. Nemesis was just a pain to kill sometimes... You should also check out Silent Hill if you like Resident Evils.

I would recommend the FF tactics game big time. Best strategy RPG on the PS1 imo.

Also even though they are incredibly dated today in terms of realism the Gran Turismo games are still a great blast to play. Just go with the mindset of an awesome arcade racer though when you play it.

The Spyro games are my favorite 3d platformers of all time (Yes I may have some nostalgia shades on here lol)

Also if you can find it get Final Fantasy 5. I can't remember which FF collection it comes with but that is personally my favorite of the old school FF games.

Crash Team Racing...I don't think an explanation is needed.

Tekken 3...Holds up today as one of the best 3d fighting games around
