I was about 5 or so. Â I remember going to my friend's house and walking around the corner into their living room. Â There on the TV in all it's glory was Super Mario Bros. Â I was amazed. Â Then I got a chance to try it out and, well, 25 years later here I am. Â My parents did have an Atari 2600 that I dabbled with but it didn't "hook" me like the NES did. Â I ended up begging and begging for one and my parents got me one for Christmas that year. Â
I was 2 when I got some random, fake console, that had mario and some other games in it. It was fake, but man, that shit was awesome. I also got a PC when I was 3, and I used it for playing games ever since, beside my PS3.
My father was a gamer (he stopped with the NES), so I was gaming as soon as I could hold a controller (2 years old).
I was 5 when I played my first video game at my cousin's house- Playstation 1, original spyro. Loved it so much, I got the same game and console for my 6th birthday.
6 - NES. Â I remember the day we got it, I snuck upstairs to play early and got in trouble. Â I was so excited.
Frankly it's like a pre-rational interest, so that might help justify all the time I've spent playing since.
I received an Atari 2600 when I graduated High School at 17. Well the Sears version of the 2600, but it worked the same. I stayed awake 2 days straight playing that thing. It was the start of a serious video game addiction.
