2007 - The Hype was True!

We have all been through it before - Many hyped games will crash and burn so hard sometimes it will make us regrett even renting them. but 2007 was different. This year the Hype was real and delivered were games that are some of the best of all time. Although we did get some huge stinkers(LAIR), Almost all hugely hyped games turned out absolutely incredible.

Yeah man, god, it was a really good year.

There was a huge drought up until this year, I must have purchsed 15 games this year.

98' was hot, but I mean, thats a long time ago, but this year was definatly good.

I remember like 03 being alright too.

what's even more amazing is that ALL of those games except for God of War 2 came out in the second half of this year with the vast majority within 2 months before christmas... that's A LOT of games for such a short period of time

Of course the hype was right. Only idiots would say otherwise. Idiots, who no doubt bash a game just because it's "hyped" or popular.

I'm happy with 2007 as one of gaming's best years ever, and not even for any of the previously listed reasons.

Yes its most definitely a great year. Finally it seems like all the new consoles are established and the great games are flowing. Not just major games either, but a good amount of sleeper hits.

I think this is a better year than 2004, however 1998 and 2001 are still tops for me.

I really disagree with the OP. To me most of the hyped games didn't really meet my expectations. However it was more so the sleepers that made 2007 for me (Persona 3, Odin Sphere, etc.).Gunraidan

Definately, actually I own many and planned on getting (or want to get) many of the games on your list. :)

P.S. The best thing about Odin Sphere is because it gives you a taste of what a modern 2D game would play like today. Good thing that the game performed well and that they are making a spritual sequel on the Wii. :)
