Usagi,
I see some import games there in pic #3. I'm studying Japanese, but I'm not far along in my Kanji; I can read the katakana though.Â
jyo jyo no ????? (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
?? jyasutisu ?? (Shiritsu Justice Gakuen a.k.a Rival Schools(?))
parappa rappaa (PaRappa the Rapper)
tobal No. 1 (pretty obvious)
tobaru 2 (Tobal 2)
Did I get those right?
Yup, you sure did! Every one of them! JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is Jojo no Kimyona Boken, in case you wanted reinforcement on that last part. :)Usagi,

Do you speak Japanese? I'd love to have someone to practice with. I've been trying to study it for a few years now, but with a full time job, two kids, and well... a video game addiction, it's been slow going.Â
I've recently thought it would be neat to get a Japanese Gaming union started (although I doubt I have the time or proficiency to lead a union). I've seen Kyoku-dai and the Import DS Games unions, but I'm thinking something more along the lines of discussion and study of the language and culture, guides and tips for people interested in taking trips to Japan (especially Akihabara!), and of course any and all import games. I honestly don't know why the Import DS Games union decided to get so specific and focus only on DS. But anyway...

Nope, I don't come close to speaking Japanese. In fact, you are obviously farther along than I am. The small amount I do know, I learned myself over the summer. Most of what I know is various phrases from watching anime and reading the language books along with the kana I have memorized, but that is about it. That is a great idea for a union! I would love to go to Japan someday too! Watching the coverage of TGS this year was the most interesting when they were following Homer around when he was showing us viewers some of the cool places in and around Tokyo. Of course, Akihabara is a gamer's wet dream! :D Ahem, anyway, I think that Import DS union focuses narrowly because these people wouldn't import unless it was as easy as simply buying the game and popping it in their DSs. I doubt they would go out of their way to be able to play imports.I think that Import DS union focuses narrowly because these people wouldn't import unless it was as easy as simply buying the game and popping it in their DSs.usagi704
Good point, but of course it's the same for PSP, Gameboy and GBA. If only it were so easy for all systems. *sigh*
[QUOTE="usagi704"][QUOTE="aspro73"]Usagi,what's the deal with your PStwo? It looks like it has a round pop-up lid? Or is that just something sitting on top of it? That is the new lid I put on so I could play imports via swap discs. Dude! Does that bust / bypass the region lock on games or DVDs or something? I need one of those if it does. That's what it is for! The product is called Swap Magic, you put that in first to bypass the region check and then the disc will stop spinning and you can then put in a Japanese game, for example, and press X and you are off. The replacement lid is only required in order to keep the system from resetting itself when you open the lid. You can still open the lid the same as always, but the circular part of it opens separately to prevent that reset thing from happening. This is where I got the lid and Swap Magic.

The following is an honest question, and is not intended as a backhanded means of trying to police you:
Is it within GS TOS to discuss such things?
yes. though it voids your warentee it's not entirely illeagal. however; what you put in it can be.though it voids your warentee it's not entirely illeagal.waflerevolution
Yeah, I knew messing with your systems will void their warranty; I was wondering if talking about using swap discs and modding your system was against GS TOS (GameSpot Terms of Service, or rather Terms of Use, as they are calling it).Â
Your answer, "Yes", may have been meant to answer that question, but I wasn't sure.
I cleaned up a little
Some of my Systems. It's missing a Mega CD unit, a Saturn and a Virtual boy. ( All 3 for repairs :( )
I also typed up all games I own and may or may not post it, depends on how fast I can add them to my collections on Gamespot :p (or if someone really wants to see what I have)
I do. Also, what is the arcade stick toward the top right of the second picture?I also typed up all games I own and may or may not post it, depends on how fast I can add them to my collections on Gamespot :p (or if someone really wants to see what I have)

It's called a Megamaster II MX-341 *serial?*
IT says Saitek under the joystick and on the back it was made by Mega World international.
Forget to upload my Atari :p
Most of the games are junk except I think 4 games. These games were made by a company called "BOMB" and all have manuals.Â

Oh and I uploaded my game list to my Blog if you want to check it out.
Here is most of my collection. The images link to much larger versions. (I apologize in advance for keeping games in shoeboxes.)
Just to note: I have boxes and manuals for about 95% of the NES, SNES, GB, and GBA games. But they are currently stored away for their own protection, and I didn't want to fish 'em out.
Sadly, the same cannot be said for the Atari/Colecovision games. Those are cart only.
you are quite welcome.Aspro, Wafle, Usagi; I just wanted to thank you all for your kind words. ^_^

I have recently updated my collection pictures on Gamepilgrimage. The two links below have shots of every game I own and every console I own. I'm obsessive about everything being hooked up at once, so that has been the primary achievement here.looks great.

Sheath013, nice set-up, very organized. What is the white system in your main set-up under the XBOX and Gamecube? aspro73same question.
[QUOTE="aspro73"]Sheath013, nice set-up, very organized. What is the white system in your main set-up under the XBOX and Gamecube? waflerevolutionsame question. Also, the black SNES, was that a custom job or did it come like that? I have a second one that is pretty damaged by smoke (bought used) that I think a flat black application would look good on.
I'm in the process of trying to reorganize the games I have with me(1/2 my collection still resides with my parents). I've been thinking of buying some make it yourself shelving from walmart. Any better ideas. Or any good ideas of what to do here?I'm pretty sure the shelving at FYE is still free after the rebate and if you can find some left then I'd say go get some!

My updated collection finally makes it's debut here. There are too many to physically post here so you'll have to settle for a link. Now it's time for me to slow down and enjoy them for a while.Very nice.
