"You posted too many messages in a row"

How do you feel about this posting-cap? Personally I think its quite stupid. You post a couple of times in a topic and boom all of a sudden you're being treated as a spambot. What's even worse is how long it takes for this cap to be overridden. By the time that happens you have already lost interest in the ongoing discussion and you move on to doing other things.

I don't get this place. The forums are getting pathetic traffic so there's no need to make it worse. Someone might say that it a measure to counter spammers. Well, spammers are not having any trouble advertising cheap kitchens in Lancashire and the next big Indian entrepreneur. So what gives?

It's silly and counterproductive for sure. Why they just don't introduce a post merge feature is build me.

I don't know. I used to get the "flooding message" back in 2007-08, haven't seen it recently (I got a few for a brief period in 2012, but I think that was when this site was glitching worse than Obamacare's site).

As far as the current "posting too much in a row" message, I've gotten it a few times. But since the site changed I can only post once in a topic, after that it won't respond when I click on the "respond" or "reply" buttons, I have to get out of the topic and then go back in if I want to post again.
