System Wars Minimum posts rule

I have a complaint about the System Wars forum minimum posts rule. It says you need to have 500 posts before you can create a thread, which I understand the motive behind it; it's a troll control strategy. However, I'm putting its effectiveness in question because if the maximum 5 posts/day for the first 3-5 days of someone making an account isn't enough to stop someone from trolling, I think at that point, anyone who wants to troll WILL troll.

Another factor to consider is that a lot of the troll topics that get locked come from people who have over 5K posts. I can understand 200-300 but I think 500 is an overkill. I have things I want to discuss and I'm known for making hypethreads (FOR INSTANCE: http://www.gamespot.com/forums/bug-reporting-feedback-1000006/lostrib-and-harassment-31659216/#2)

500 post limit is fine.

Just deal with it. If you're an avid user of System Wars/other GameSpot forums, you'll have 500 posts very shortly.

It's a stupid rule that serves zero purpose. If you wanna insert that rule, do it properly, and flat out block people that don't have 500 posts from making threads.

we know the 500 post rule is ineffective because users with < 500 posts create threads.

the rule is purely decorative. (oh sometimes they enforce it. extremely efficient).
