I'm not sure what you guys are trying to describe. Can you post a screen shot? It might also help to know what page(s) you are seeing this on, and what browser(s) you are using at the time.

The Cataclysm review page looks ok here. Generally, something like that makes me think of style sheet problems. Are you both using GameSpot AU?

Yes, I'm also having the same problem. Using Gamespot AU. It's pretty annoying when you visit all the time.

So glad it is not just me, but still very irritating.

For the time being, I find by hitting stop while the page loads (can take a few reloads), you can stop it before the sidebar loads up. A temporary fix for reading reviews...

I'm going to hazard a guess that there's an Australian-only advert causing the problem.

I'm thinking along similar lines. I'm not seeing it here, so it seems like it might be AU-specific. Maybe an ad. Maybe something else that tweaked the column layout on gamespace pages. Maybe we should have users identify the ads that are showing on affected pages to see if there is a common denominator ad-wise.

Yes, there's an Ad that often occurs from EB games. But I don't know whether it is or isn't the problem. Here's a screenshot:

So, typically when you move your cursor over the ad and click on the edges, it sort of flips to another page, like a magazine over the screen. While
that isn't really the problem, since you guys said it may have somthing to do with an ad, this generally feels as though it is stuffing up the site layout.

And yes, it is probably only in Australia and its still happening:(

Also from australia, the left sidebar seems to pop up middle page, you can't read anything underneath it, voiding the whole point of clicking an article.

I wonder - in a sort of rhetorical way - if AU users who block that ad see pages as they were intended to appear, or if they also see the navigation column shifted over the middle column too.

I had to read a little on AdSweep, but it sounds like it's a "hider" and not a "blocker" - the way it sounds to me is that it works at the CSS level. While your observation is very interesting, it may leave some wiggle room in terms of being a decisive answer to the question. However, if you are using Opera, you might be able to do a more direct block of the ad image so that your browser won't even request it. If you try that and manage to block the image that way, it might give us a little more insight.

It seems to be an EBGames ad that is forcing the sidebar into the middle for me. Pages without that ad have the sidebar in the right position.

Oh my god this problem still isn't fixed? I am seriously considering switching to IGN as my main gaming website.
