Someone at GameSpot needs to lay off the bottle. You used to label titles of games in your REVIEW and COMING SOON sections with clickable platform info (ie PS3, XBOX 360, WII as individual links). Now all you have is missing info, wrong info, and an incosistent mess. What gives? I have taken a couple screenshots to demonstrate.

Screenshot-1 COMING SOON section

So this first screenshot shows:

Uncharted 2 - PS3 Box Art, but no PS3 platform label after the game.

Brutal Legends shows Xbox 360 Box Art, but only a PS3 text platform label.

Magna Carta 2 - no text platform label.

NBA 2K10 -NO Box Art or text platform information at all.

And finally, Tropico 3 with Games for Windows Boxart, but only an XBOX 360 text label.

Screenshot-2 REVIEWS section

This next screenshot shows the Reviews section with NO TEXTPLATFORM LABELS what-so-ever. One game doesn't have boxart either, so you can't tell at all what platform it is for without clicking the link. And since your boxart can't be trusted anyway,it leavesplatform information as a guessing game

I think it is incredibly helpful knowing what platform(s) a game is being released for, and then being able to go to the proper page for that game. Your website design makes that nearly impossible. Either that,or one of your webguysisreally dropping the ball.

Multiplatform... I think that's the key on the new releases page. I'm pretty sure the new releases page is only showing platform identifiers for the 2nd and subsequent platforms of a multiplatform release; the first platform is covered by the box art (if any) and the yellow title link. The reviews page never identifies a platform explicitly because reviews are by game *and* platform, so game reviews are not lumped together across platforms. Your screen shot actually shows an example of that. Just quickly double checking those pages, I could not find any box art that disagreed with the title link, platform-wise. If you can hover over a link and see the URL, you can tell what platform is involved if you aren't sure. I don't think this is a technical support issue. If you want to suggest that platforms get spelled out in plain text on the page or something, I'm sure it will fit right in over in the Enhancements & Feedback forum.

I agree. What gives? It use to list CLEARLY what platform it was for. Now you can sorta guess if you look really closely at the box art. They need to get the platform identification back. And really---why REMOVE a feature?

I am not pointing out link functionality as much as I a pointing out the terrible and incosistent user interface. These pages used to have color-coded platform text links after every single title. As a user, that interface made it possible to quickly scan these lists of games and see what platform(s) each titleis beingreleased for, as well as being able to quickly access that platform page.

If this was actually an interface design choice, it is terrible. You stillhave thoselinks occasionally... but you are substituting tiny little box-art pictures for one of those links. This makes it impossible to quickly scan the page for titles for particular platforms, and still leaves ZERO information about platform for titles without boxart, or boxart without platform info.

GameSpot USED TO SHOW ALL PLATFORM INFO WITH DIRECT PLATFORM LINKS after every single title. I put thispage in the Technical Issue forum because I couldn't imagine removing that easy-to-use-interface for this jumbled messwould actual be someone's choice. I figured it MUST be a technical issue.

Think about scanning the reviews pages with all of the color-coded platform links following the title. You could QUICKLY, EASILY, and ACCURATELY see exactly what reviews were coming out for any and all platforms that you own -as well as the ones you don't. You could then quickly jump to the appropriate pages. Trying to look at the incomplete boxart (1/2 inch tall low-res images where you can't actually read most writing) as a guide for platform information is just about the worst interface you could possible create. Especially when the system is in palce for the color-codedtext-link labels, AND the website actually used to use that system.

Sorry, but you are defending a completely inferior interface, compared to what this very website used to offer - and still has the set-up to use.

Hey Mystikef, If you are pointing out the "terrible and inconsistent user interface" then this topic would be best suited for Site Enhancements & Feedback forum.
