Log-in redirects

Why, when I am asked to sign in to vote and I do, am I redirected to a different page than the one I was on previously on trying to Upvote? Is there a way GameSpot could redirect me back to the page I was on? Actually, I know there is - what I mean is - could GameSpot have their developers code the correct redirect back to the URL that sent me to the sign in page? Thanks!
