Been trying to embed pictures since yesterday and I still haven't been able to do so. The progress bar that shows pictures being uploaded doesn't even show that it's finished, it simply goes right to the picture size selection. I select the size and the alignment and nothing. No picture. Posts come out blank.

So an update: I can embed pictures from URLs but not from my computer or from any of the pictures I have uploaded in the past.

@airshocker:

Have you tried completing and submitting the post anyway, just to test it? Sometimes, the pictures appear in the results anyway.

Apparently it does work. It just doesn't show the picture in the reply box?

@airshocker: No it doesn't but like Gelugon_baat said, it works anyway and I had the same problem but I ended up hitting the post button when I uploaded a pic. Remember that if it's not the right size pic or whatever, you still have time to edit and try again.

Upload it to a different website and drag and drop. You can also resize it however you please.

@airshocker:

Since it works, I am going to say here that I believe that this is the same issue which I faced when trying to make pictures appear in review articles.

When a picture is appended, it is actually appended in the post/article draft - but the post/article editor fails to show it, at least not immediately.

Now, let's see: do try to create another post with a picture in it. If it does not appear in the editor space, try writing some text, then delete that text and use the undo feature.

Whenever I do this, the editor somehow remembers that a picture has been appended and displays that picture.

@Brutal_Elitegs: That work-around is rather tedious. Also, ultimately, GameSpot just downloads the picture anyway and displays the copy instead of making an image display with URL links to other websites.

I don't see how it's tedious. The added flexibility you get in resizing the image is worth the extra 10 seconds it takes to upload it elsewhere.

The gif I posted above links to the site I uploaded it to, and there is no copy of it in my images.

Eh... Maybe I should have checked the URL of the GIF. Sorry.
