Hi guys

I having some problems trying to unsubscribe from the "Daily Tracked Updates" option under my email preferences tab. Everytime I click "No", and then click "apply changes", it seems to register. However, if I navigate to another tab or window, and come back, the "Yes" option is reselected. I can't figure out why it will not save my changes. I'm using Firefox.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I also am having this problem. All I want is to stop getting emails from Gamespot. I can't change my email preferences. I can't find a link to contact tech support on your web site. If someone in tech support reads this, PLEASE MAKE IT SO THAT I STOP GETTING EMAILS FROM GAMESPOT! Cancel my account if you have to, but stop sending me emails. I haven't come to this site since you started firing your reviews for giving sponsored games bad reviews, anyway. Just do whatever it takes to stop my emails. Thanks.

Seems that it's not just that setting either, I can't get any changes to save, including the daily tracked update email one. I wasn't even getting that email until late last week. What makes it worse is it doesn't even seem to be a properly formatted HTML email (my webmail account can't read it properly).

Me too. I've always had my email prefs set to no emails, then suddenly the other day I'm getting them and My Prefs doesn't seem to remember the settings I give it... :roll:

same here. i've never had tracked updates on but last week i started getting emails about it. whenever i click the box to no and apply changes, then close out of it and open my prefs again, it's back to yes.

Same problem here. This is the 3rd day in a row I have received an unwanted updates email. It would be nice if a mod or support person would actually come and post a response in this thread.

Thank god I'm not the only one with this issue. I'm also having problems with adding games to my wishlist. I only want them on my wishlist, not my tracking games list, and it's only coming up on my tracked games list.

I'm having the same problem and I really don't appreciate GameSpot spamming my inbox with email updates that I've NEVER signed up for.

Me to. Still getting emails. I'll select no in the prefs and hit apply, sometimes the page reloads sometimes it does not. I don't think that the prefs windows have ever worked well.

I'm having the same issue, spontaneous email update reminders without the ability to turn them off.

Ditto, I cannot make the preference change permanent. Using Firefox on Mac OSX - same with Safari and Opera so I doubt it is a browser issue. I have cookies enabled by default on all my browsers.

To recreate the issue: I go to my User page > click "prefs" > go to the "Email" tab > select the "No" radio button for "GameSpot Daily Tracked Updates E-mail"> and then click "Apply Changes".

The problem: The change is not actually set because if I click the "Site Settings" tab and then reselect the "Email" tab the change has reverted to "Yes" for the "Gamespot Daily Tracked Updates E-mail".

Conclusion: To me this is a high priority to fix because of the quantity of users affected. I first noticed this on or about March 23rd. Gamespot continues to look like an idiot to their most loyal users every day this isn't fixed. I could setup an email rule to automatically delete such emails but then I wouldn't get my annual Gamespot renewal notice and I like paying for my GS subscription.

So now the only reason I ever visit this site (track games list) is spamming my inbox every day despite my repeatedly setting the emails to NO.

You don't have much longer to fix this before I just ask for my account to be deleted and never come back again.

A temp fix right now is to enter a fake email address, this will bounce those notifications back to their servers until they fix this issue.

I also have this problem and as it is against s.5(1) of the CNET Networks privacy policy not to allow us to opt out of emails I suggest you remedy the situation quickly. In the meantime I will be marking all your emails as spam in gmail so that their system can learn them as spam.

Gamespot! The main reason I am paying you is because I HATE advertisement. And now I am receiving SPAM from you which I can not stop! This thread is already a week long, and you still do not even acknowledge the problem! If this continues I will be forced to stop subscription and remove my account.

Me too. The only setting I can change on the e-mail tab is the e-mail type(html/plain). That might at least reduce the e-mail size. This is EXTREMELY IRRITATING.

I am also having this problem with the tracked updates email. I had this problem a few months ago and it seemed to be fixed, but now its back. Gamespot please FIX!!
