Lacking a few minor things to make it a great game

I've owned this game for ages now and never really got around to playing it. The game was something I wanted to sit and enjoy as I've read the manga and was looking forward t sitting and following the story through the game...BUT when I did I must say I was a little disappointed. Not just by the fact that the story is only told through the monologues at the start of each chapter but that the controls and game-play were not as fluid as they should be.. I found it more annoying than anything halfway through a fight to have a notification flash up on the screen interrupt game-play to tell me the mission is complete or something like that when it flashing at the side (like most other games do) would have been better as then i could read it and my game wouldn't stop mid fight. on top of this mechanic the controls are slow and clunky making the fights take AGES to complete and feel very robotic. oh and speaking of the fights THERE ARE TOO MANY PER LEVEL. I get that this is a fighting game but i don't want to spend 20 minutes per mission fighting the same churned out enemies.
This is a good game in the core but it needs a few things to make it great
-a better story telling mechanic then shoving it down our throats during the pre-mission
-better fighting mechanics (ie something kinda like the arkham asylum/city would be perfect)
-more variety among the enemies so that the game doesn't get boring

cmon guys just do these things for me give me a great game and ill love you forever
