With compelling storylines and a challenging task at hand, anyone who likes a good RPG will love this and its characters

The Fire Emblem series has been long-shadowed by the unaccepting Japanese creators, this being the seventh in total, and being the first to be in English. However, they did well to make Fire Emblem 7 the one to introduce the series to the rest of the world.

As you would always expect of an RPG, the game features insanely-haired characters that all, at the peak of your game, have their own stories, and their own private conversations with other units in your troop make this game one you CAN'T only play through once.

More or less, there is an evil guy, and he wants to send the world into a state of decay and war. However, your lords think otherwise. Enter Lyn, the first lord you play in the game, dark turquoise hair, a classic RPG script, and the fact that your characters look at you and address you by name, immediately got me interested.

The gameplay itself is simple. Think chess with swords, lances, axes, light, dark and anima magic, bows and staves. It may sound complicated at first, but truly this is a game you perfect along the way. I found myself restarting the game over about 20 times due to the fact I knew I could do better then last time. You must memorise things to be efficient and fast in this game. Otherwise, you better pull your best couch up, because this game TAKES TIME.

The music in the game is run-of-the-mill BGM, simple looping, but however there are alot of tracks, so you only hear the same tune a few times throughout the game (apart from recruiting music, you better get used to that, the theme is GOOD).

Later in the game, namely ten chapters from the beginning, you swap to another lord, Lord Eliwood, crown prince of Pherae. At this point the true story begins. In a chapter, he meets his friend, brother of Marquess Ositia, the largest power around, Hector. You will learn, trust me, that Hector is the best unit you can get, hands-down. But that's for you to discover the true potential.

Obviously further on you run into Lyn again, along with her little posse of troops. And thus the story continues. Eliwood must find his father, Marquess Pherae, but he finds out that the end will be a lot different to what he or you expect.

Get ready for the ride of your life.
