When i first opened up Field Commander and popped in the disk, i figured this was just going to be another cheap knock-off of Advance Wars. i was pretty surprised. While some aspects are completely identical, there are several new added things AW doesnt have. The ability to have a plane on the same spot as a tank was a lifesaver as it allowd more troops through quicker. The missions difficulty is extremely stupid. One level will be way too easy and then the next almost impossible. You need to have a lot of patience in order to play this game. It is a great choice for the PSP because it is a great game to pick up and play but i couldnt imagine playing this for any longer than an hour without getting a severe headache. Overall, if your interested in turn based strategy, there really isnt any alternative on the PSP but Field Commander will have you shouting out orders like a general in minutes.
