I had more fun playing this than the actual game. But it is hilariously short and shouldn't even be called content.

So basically if you liked FEAR 2 then FEAR 2: Reborn gives you an extra hour or hour and a half of game time. What's unique is that instead of playing the good guys, you now play a replica soldier.

You start off immediately being launched into a mech suit and wreaking havoc upon ATC forces. Like I said in my FEAR 2 review, the mech suit was the most fun part of the game so I liked that it just cut to the chase. Eventually you have to give up the suit though and pursue on foot. What's weird is at first you don't have reflex mode so you can't rely on slowing down time.

Soon though in a turn of events, Paxton Fettel summons you and in a weird twist of fate you are able to use reflex mode. It also means that all your replica clone buddies will now attack you since you just destroyed an entire room of them. So now you have to go run and free Paxton Fettel while killing everything in your path since you're an enemy to everyone.

On a technical note, the HUD for the replica soldier is way better than the HUD in the main game.

If you forget this has the FEAR name on it, it's actually a great action game. Like I said, I had a blast playing it and I thought it was a lot of fun. After beating it, the story just seems like it's serving as a bridge to F3AR but at least it concluded and it made sense.

So why with all this praise am I rating it a 6? Because you can beat it in an hour. It was actually pretty funny that they even considered this downloadable content. It flew by so fast. And currently it is priced at $9.99 which is outrageous. So please, whatever you do...do not buy this DLC individually. If you happen to get it in a FEAR bundle like I did then yeah you'll have fun. But if you paid $10 or more for this, then you deserve your money back.
