As a Ping-pong fanatic, this is probably the best middle-ground table tennis you'll ever play on the Wii. Sweet.

Most of us have experienced Wii Play's Table Tennis by now. It was both limited and limiting in gameplay. Then came the very difficult to master Rockstar's Table Tennis. It held so much promise and come to think of it, after months at my lackluster disposal, it still does. But playing with it for more than one hour on ends, is more than I can do with it considering its very difficult gameplay...both for beginners and expert players alike. It has been rated a mere 6.5 on this site for multiple factors but I consider it to be my favorite Wii title ie, not until Family Table Tennis came along.

This Wiiware Title not only is good wholesome family fun as the name suggests. It also is highly addictive and very satisfying to play with. After only a couple of hours of playing with it, I can say I've totally "got the rhythm of it".

Needless to say, Ping-pong is my preferred sport since I acquired an RSI while being introduced to my new job at a computer station, of all things. That was way back 1993. Now that we have the Wii console which I can use at my luxury, I have been looking for titles that may aid in recovering my lost ROM from my right shoulder, especially since the Wii really can aid in PT and OT.

Wiiware's Family Table Tennis, with it's serene, happy Asian music, cute GUI, responsive controls, easy approach to the game, is PERFECT for me. I can play with it endlessly without the fear of further injury and consider it a stepping stone towards mastering Rockstar's Table Tennis title especially if they're releasing a sequel to it.
