My favorite RPG of all time.

User Rating: 9.5 | Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition PS3
Now I'm not the type of gamer who only play's RPG's but Fallout 3 is the best I've played. Mainly because of how fresh it is, combining FPS gameplay and RPG elements seamlessly wrapped with a great story. Oblivion fans will quickly find it easy to get used to trading magic and swords, for guns and grenades. each weapon in Fallout 3 plays a role; some better for defeating other enemy more than the other and the game is balanced well. V.A.T.S auto aim system works differently for each weapon and enemy and don't forget your FPS aiming ability in this game either!

The depth of this game is just off the charts. I've played it for hours at a time finding it hard to just stop playing! It is the most addictive game I've every played, even more than COD MW2 online multiplayer. It's very involving and NOTHING tops the atmosphere in this game! Nothing at all! not even Assassin's Creed games. This world feels so real, like im peeking into a parallel universe! The illusion of actually living in a post apocalyptic world is held together by the events that take place in the game, situations so real and so frightening painting a what if scenerio that could be a bit depressing even. That's how awesome the atmosphere and story is.

Now the game isn't perfect, but I'm still rating it pretty close to perfect. It's just groundbreaking, it really is better than Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, and Oblivion. The writing is excellent, story believable too, even though the voice acting is shoddy. (With one exception; Liam Neeson's role) He's one of my favorite actors, did a great job in this game. Some of the animations are off but hey, this is an RPG game right? Sometimes you forget it is during the heated parts, since it looks so great, character models and environment very detailed. And the Downloadable Content in this special edition rocks! Point Lookout and Broken Steel were 2 of my favorite segments of the game. Operation Anchorage was boring but played it early on getting my hands on that Winterized Body Armor. I haven't tried The Pitt of MS Zeta yet.

Overall, a 9.5 out of 10, I feel like giving this game a 10, only Metal Gear gets a 10 from me so far, but Fallout 3 is short of perfection because of the graphical glitches and freezing issues. In the 50-60 hours I've played so far, it froze up around 6 times. So not too bad, but still un-called for. I guess it tells you how hard it is to run such a big game like this in flawless fashion, but I agree ! game of the year for sure!
