Horrendously embarrassing and unwatchable story... Generic battle system with some options to customize but not much...

Ive been playing RPGs for 25 years now. Ive come a long way since the days of the 286 and my Atari 2600. My first true full RPG was probably Wizardry... or was it Ultima? I cant remember any more. But thats not the point. The point is I have played RPGs with nonsensical stories, funny stories, serious stories, lovey dovey stories, and even children stories and I rank Enchanted Arms in the top 5 worst RPG stories in RPG history. Not because the premise is bad, but rather the execution is so embarrassingly bad that I just cant stand watching it...

The voice acting is some of the worst I have ever heard across all RPGs and anime and boy have seen some bad ones... The characters all need to die, then resurrect, so I can torture and kill them again. They are completely unlikable and frankly if all people were like the heroes, id rather the bad guys won and killed everyone. Thank goodness people arent actually like the turds in this game.

The story premise is not bad but it is like beating a dead horse and is so predicable and over used that it could only surprise a budding RPG 8 year old. The story is so bad I feel embarrassed playing it even when no one is around... I was drunk one night and even in that stupor I kept thinking to myself, what if an alien is watching? Would I really want to represent humanity by playing this game? Thats how bad it is.

Ok on to the game itself. The combat system is a very small turn based grid system. We have, of course, seen this maybe a hundred times in the past. That doesnt make it bad, but it does make it generic. Unfortunately there is little to redeem the system in the way of strategy to justify the grid. The only time you might employ strategy is for heal, dps cycles but the problem is that the system is cumbersome for such purpose because you cannot automate it and thus each battle is just a drudge, taking at least 30-45 seconds for even a single worthless enemy that dies in 1 automated hit. Real strategy is no where to be seen. Games back in the SNES days had more interesting battle systems. It feels too much like a time sink and I got bored of it. Again its not horrible, but its old and tired.
