More the same, but in a little better package.
Graphics and sound are the same high quality as the original game did.
Gameplay has seen some changes, which is a great thing. Artifact gives the player a few different Hell Powers all of which are fun to use and it ads some very much needed variety in the experience. Also worth mentioning are the 2 new guns: double-barreled shotgun (which totally ROCKS) and a grabber, which is a lot like the gravity gun in Half-Life 2. But because the bulk of the game happens in tight corridors, there is not much use to this otherwise functional grabber. Player will be happy to know that there is less darkness this time around and that the flashlight is now attached to his or her pistol. It takes around 6 to 8 hours to play through and the game ends just in time when the player starts to get bored.
I especially enjoyed the ending, because it really gives the player a final solution in a great way after 25 to 30 hours of playing (including the original Doom 3). The feeling of accomplishment is really rewarding.
