A little extra adventure for the Doom series.
Now you get to explore a couple new levels along with some of the old ones. The newer levels are a lot like the ones before so there isn't any stunning surprises there. Most of the monsters are the same with the exception of one. It doesn't have any extraordinary abilities though.
My favorite part of the game is the new weapons. There isn't a lot, but there is just enough to give some entertainment. The game includes all of the guns from Doom 3 are some. There is the grabber gun. Its one of the most useful weapons considering it can grab the beams being shot at you. It can pick up hard to reach med kits and also picks up explosive barrels to be used as a weapon. Then there is Sarge's shotgun. One of Sarge's old weapons it is a doubled barreled shotgun that packs a powerful punch. No monster can really stand up to it.The last is not really a weapon used too often, but you need it to survive. Just like in Doom 3 when you had the soul cube in Resurrection of Evil you have an artifact. It absorbs human bodies to recharge. When used it slows down everything around you, makes you stronger , and it makes you invincible.
Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil is a fun little game. It has things that make the game easier than the first such as the flashlight attached to the pistol. Also the length is very short. The game can be beaten in less than a day. It still has to be system linked to play mutliplayer or you can use live. The biggest part that makes this worth getting is that if you didn't get the collectors's edition of Doom 3 and missed out on the original Doom and Doom 2 then your in luck. Resurrection of Evil has included both of those for your enjoyment.
i recommend buying this game if you are a fan of this series. Also get it if you enjoy horror games that are exciting and fast paced games.
