Excellent racing game for fans of on- and offroad racing. Graphics are stunning and difficulty just right.

Codemasters had a reputation to uphold when it comes to racing games. And with DiRT they do not disappoint at all.

Again here is the world of rallyracing. From the supercharged hot hatches to the heavy duty racers that best the Pikes Peak course. Everything is here for our delight. In with the mix are several other disciplines (truckracing, buggyracing and CORR) for some lesser known fun.

It has to be said that these other disciplines are not nearly as interesting as the core rallyracing of DiRT. Sure, it is fun to drive a truck across hills and wastes, but getting your small extremely fast car around tight corners, muddy fields and great stretches of tarmac (while avoiding trees, walls and other obstacles) is still the best.

The gameplay is less complicated than in recent episodes and for some this will be a negative. You can still tweak the cars to your heart's extent, but this is certainly not necessary in the lower regions of the difficulty scale. This makes DiRT enjoyable for people who just want to race once in a while without having to study the cars they drive. In this way it is still possible to gain the achievements for finishing career mode.

A definite and enormous plus for DiRT are the graphics. This is something that Codemasters has always mastered best. The environments are stunning to behold (as if you have time for ogling the environments), the reactions of your car to the different surfaces are completely convincing and the physics in general are stunning. Grabbing hold in a tight corner with Scandinavian Flick is harder this time around and makes mastering it even better.

DiRT is a very fun game to play and certainly a game I will be returning to in the future. Until DiRT 2 hits the streets of course.
