Great game, great challenge

User Rating: 9.5 | Devil May Cry (Platinum) PS2
I played Devil May Cry when it first came out for about 20 minutes, then a family emergency pulled me away from it. I just bought the anniversary collection and have started playing again. The game has a great storyline (of course you might forget about that once you start killing demons). The controls we're easy to get use to, but I still don't see the point of being able to taunt your enemies. The boss battles are intense and difficult which makes the game a nice change of pace now adays because boss battle lately are very very easy. Now I know the game is old so it's weird to complain about it now. You aren't able to control the camera which can be annoying at sometimes. Also, movement isn't that smooth, at least it isn't when your running. It's almost like theres a pause before each movement, like a animation that instead of being a smooth loop, it just stops and starts over. This game is reasonably hard and is on my list of "games that make me want to throw my controller", but once your use to the flow of the game it becomes a lot easier. Multiple weapons and skills make the game even better because you can constantly improve how Dante kills things. If one has not played this game yet, it's a must.
