Well done and definitely keeps you wanting more....

When I first got this game, I believe I watched the intro movie way too many times. Dante really comes off as a bad-ass in this game.

In the beginning, you start with a sword and "ebony and ivory" (Dante's dynamic duo of pistols). I definitely loved unloading on bad guys with the dual pistols. The game plays like Resident Evil, in the way that you have to find keys or key items in order to progress farther into te game. The enemies get progressively harder and the bosses get bigger and/or badder.

The power up system in the game, which involves collecting all the orbs you can and buying moves with them, is interesting and definitely makes me want to find everything in a level and check rooms again for secret challenges. This game is only really difficult, if you plan on getting good ending level scores and finding all the secrets in order to get a lot of orbs.

The variety of weapons is also something that keeps the fighting from becoming monotonous. New guns and melee weapons can make taking out hordes of bad guys a lot easier.

The graphics are ok. Even when this game came out, the graphics were not that spectacular. Though, the environments are interesting and different as you progress through the game. The only part of the game that seemed unnecessary was the abandoned boat, because of the swimming portion, which seemed thrown into the game at last minute. The rest of the game was seamless and well done.

Maybe not the reason to buy a PS2, but it's definitely a good one. Definitely include this in your collection, though.
