A total letdown of a sequel to Capcom's finest hour (DMC)

User Rating: 6 | Devil May Cry 2 PS2
when i first bought this game, i was excited. i was ready to kick some demon a** once again, as i had done when playing Devil May Cry (which i believe to be Capcom's finest hour, btw). i expected a catchy storyline, with interesting and unique characters, and good gameplay. instead, i was left with a poor excuse for a sequel to Devil May Cry, in which the characters are boring, have bad voice acting, and control like tanks. Dante is far too slow in my opinion, and his attacks get repetitive after the first couple of times. also, the extra swords you unlock? there's just about no difference to them whatsoever, except for a very tiny difference in their attack power and range. The storyline was practically nonexistent. granted, i'm not expecting it to be terribly deep, but they could've done better! the boss fights are all annoying and unenjoyable, and the monsters get terribly repetitive as well. Unless you're a die-hard Devil May Cry fan, you probably won't enjoy this game much at all, and it won't be worth much more then a rental. and if you're new to the DMC series, trust me, don't start with this one. Start off with 1 or 3, they're both immensely better.
