Simple, and quite a bit of fun...

Dead to Rights: Reckoning (DTRR) is simple, and quite a bit of fun, but it could be too simple for some people.

The game is basically all about getting out your best weapon, and going head on towards the enemy. Luckily you get quite a bit of fire power to assist you, from smaller weapons, to assault rifles, to shotguns. Each weapons handles a bit differently in terms of how fast and accurate they shoot. The game has two special moves to use, one when you're up close to an enemy, which is a disarm, where you basically grab the gun out of your enemy's hands, and shoot them, then the weapon becomes yours. Or if you are a distance away from your enemy, target them, and get your attack dog to jump out of nowhere, and attack them. The game also has some cool features like, slow-motion diving, and dive-tackling, where you can dive onto and enemy to hit him onto the ground, then shoot at him while hes down. And the dive-prone ability, where if you dive, you can choose to stay on the ground, I don't really know how that one helps you, but it sure looks cool.

The game is short, only spanning 12 chapters, each chapter can be beaten in about 5-15 minutes. It'll take you 2-3 hours to beat, which isn't that much, but is pretty good for your plane flight, or car ride.

The story is quite simply the worst thing I have ever seen. You start out looking for a kidnapper, trying to get leads, tracking down gang leaders, but every gang leader you track down, you kill and have no leads again. But, with the intense action that lies within the gameplay, you don't really care.

There are a number of boss battles, but they are pretty easy. Only one I have played has any strategy, where the boss will run and hide after taking a few bullets, and getting his henchmen to shoot at you for a second, but you have to dispatch these henchmen quickly, as the boss will come out of hiding, whether his thugs are dead or not, to shoot at you some more. The rest are just basically finding the boss, and shooting him a lot with the most powerful weapon you have.

The game's graphics are amazing, theres great explosions, motion-blurs, and ragdoll physics. The models look pretty bad, but you won't really think about it when you are lost in the rest of this game's graphical beauty.

The sound is a little above average, there's some great music, but really dumbed down effects sounds, and there are no voice-overs in cinematics.

Once you play this game you'll probably forget about it, it is definatly a rent. A short singleplayer lies ahead, even though it is kind of replayable, as you can unlock skins, and maps for the multiplayer.

I wish I could say DTRR was more than just a simple shooter, but I can't. The game's value, and singleplayer just make it not very replayable, but for the first time you run through the campaign, you'll have a lot of fun.
