The third installment in DOA, this game delivers a lot more content than the other 2 games, unfortunately, to get some of this content, the player must subject themselves to the story mode boss more times than I am sure they would like. In keeping with DOA tradition, the final boss does not fight the way any other DOA fighter does. They also can't be thrown or countered. Another pesky gameplay issue is the counter blowing system. Occasionally it seems that the counter is active for too long, and a punch that hits a few seconds AFTER counter blow will be countered. One minor repetition problem is the tag battle stage 5 team. This will always be Kasumi / Hyabusa, unless you are playing as one of those characters. Even though they are the series' signature characters, it would be nice for some variation there, although the previous 4 stages to mix up the teams nicely. Graphics are what you would expect from a XBox game, with crisp, smooth animations and cutscenes with high production values. The sounds in game are what you would expect from a fighter, although as one benefit, there is a song from Aerosmith in the game. Jann Lee's voice tends to get annoyingly repetitive after a while, because he uses the same sound for most of his attacks. Overall, this is a solid 3-D fighter, no worse than any other franchise out there. Definitely worth picking up for any XBox owner.
