It was the most beautiful fighting game when it was released,and has some decent fighting action.
However,on the normal difficulty level,the CPU opponents aren't as difficult to beat as the CPU opponents in Dead or Alive 2.
The main mode of the game is story mode,which is where you select a character,and you'll face 1 round battles against some mandatory and some random opponents and you will be shown story sequences that relate to the character.Story mode is a bit short though.
There is also a tag team mode and some other modes.
Another feature DOA3 has is unrestrictive boundries.You can knock your opponent through a window(even if you're up high in a skyrise building) or through a wall or down a set of stairs,or even off a mountain(which results in your opponent losing health)When you're fighting on the beach,you'll begin fighting on the sand,and you and your opponent can keep moving across to the water and even fight inside the water.
You can knock your opponent into a tree,wall or electric fence which causes extra damage,and you can attack your opponent again as they rebound off a wall or tree.
The most noticable feature about DOA3 is it's gorgeous visuals.There's a beautiful beach resort environment and you can even see yachts sailing on the beautiful water.When you're fighting inside the skyrise building,you'll see a beautiful view of the city lite up at night and the water in the bay reflects the city lights and it looks beautiful.You can battle on top of Asian style buildings and in the forest,or high on top of mountains where you'll see mist in the air and a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains/scenery.There's some beautiful water effects too.In the arena,when a combatant is knocked into the electicfence,you'll see sparks from a mini explosion and people cheering in the background.
The women are beautiful and busty and dress in a way to show it off,whether it's during gameplay,or during CGI scenes and you'll see the women in the shower or naked.There's other great CGI scenes,such as when Jan Lee is dressed in a tuxedo and fighting off many people,and ninja action in the forest,or things that relate to the character's story/past.
There only 2 costumes available for each character,which is a shame,because DOA2 has a great variety of costumes.
Overall,DOA3 is my favorite DOA game,it's beautiful to look at and it's gameplay is decent.
