Think of it like a firecracker

First off, i want to mention that this game was available for free in the past as an offered free game from sony as an apology for the networks security exploitation mishap.

I got this game for free and i'm firm in my belief that it's worth the price that is charged for it now. The game takes you on a bloody top down zombie popping adventure throughout the devastated streets of what can safely be assumed as new york, and it's surrounding locations.

You play as one of two characters of your selection, either alone or with a partner.
With your character picked you're tossed into the thick of things, given a tutorial along your way.

You will by now be very much associated with your opposition, the festering maggot ridden walking cadavers which we lovingly refer to as zombies.
Zombies start simple enough, shoot their bodies to pieces or pop their heads open, BUT upon progression they become tougher, some requiring steps to effectively be rid of.

It's indeed wise to use your ears to get an idea of your environment because your flashlights and flares illuminate only so much, never underestimate the value of hearing a few zombies ahead or nearby, often times that can be the difference between getting a drop on the zombies or being swarmed and mauled.

There is a notable arsenal of weaponry that can drop anything in your way if you are of sufficient capability to effectively AND creatively use it.
Weapons are exponentially more effective when mixed and matched with one another but if you prove stubborn enough you can clear a level with a weapon of your choice and grenades.

Upon completion of a level you are given a look at the global statistics which detail everything from what country is top dog in the epidemic, to how many recruits each country has, kill counts, the cycles in the zombie viruses mutation a country is in, tips, news broadcast displays as well as some humorous information.

DLC is available for purchase, should you be willing to buy it.
Bugs and glitches are uncommon in this game.
Multiplayer is nothing more than a different way to play the game and get trophies.
Random zombie spawning keeps the danger of ambush real for the most part, there are situations where zombies will rush you from the same location during predetermined situations (generator activations, bridge extensions, containment area breaches, etc.)

Above all else, this game is fun and challenging with a gentle learning curve and surprising attention to detail. Definitely a good buy for any zombie hunter.
