Dodging, looting and chain combos? This might not be the Darksiders you're familiar with. Dan Chiappini explores Death's world in this preview.
ghastly cool!!!!!!!! i loved D1 this really looks even awesome i guess ill have to add another one to my list this year XD
The only thing it shares with God of War is a cosmetic similarity in the combat system. Darksiders was MUCH closer to Legend of Zelda. With basically 5 dungeons, each with final bosses, each of them dropping a health power up *cough* HEART CONTAINER *cough*, an acquirable mount, swappable weapons that you found as you went through the story, it was almost like Ocarina of Time with a darker story and better graphics. Not that that is a BAD THING, mind you.
But seriously, retards need to stop claiming that anything with a 3D, freeform combat system is just like God of War - every FPS is NOT Call of Duty, every RPG is NOT Final Fantasy, and every 3D hack n slash is NOT God of War.
It's called a Scythe, it was a useful tool that peasants in the Middle Ages and earlier used to reap wheat, corn and other crops from the fields. The vast majority of cultures on earth that have a physical manifestation of Death in their mythology include him as robed (not necessarily hooded, but it's much more common than not, as few see his face), and with a scythe, to represent the 'reaping of souls' (less commonly he is represented with a sword, or with a hangman's noose).
i actually want a raziel game another one hey btw anyone know sosmething about the Soul reaver revamp???
this game is going to be awesome I always wanted to play as death like in maximo and the army of zin, now if only he also had a cool guitar that would totally blow my mind
@KingofCabal nope you guys are fucked up in the head thats all
@KingofCabal its you.
Well i respect your words, but this is not what i mean in essence, i believe that thez cant create something from scratch (as both idea and programming) - this is also related to some kind of object oriented prog. how i tell you i start to believe some SW companies start to sell their work after years and some programmers or animators have left their work to join another company (in this case not imitation100%) but in both cases i see there is no innovation in the world of games no dramatic changes no revolutionary ideas because of the two mentioned reasons above. and also i have seen the imitation not only in programming but in ideas , you took one side but am a very old gamer and i have lived two eras of game programmings, GOW took both idea and programming and darksiders took from both but in idea of the story, i can prove more if you want and i will be more specific in details.
Hell As it is
Waoowoo it's too hot for waiting this game ....
It's more than " Hot " it's " BOOM" yeaaaah
Death , cool looking forward for getting this magnificent game . despite i played Darksiders 1
i loved how War or " horsemen " killing and smash yeah with his blade :)
can't wait for sure :)
I hope Death and War help each other during the missions or at least talk to each other on some cut scenes, i like to hear from War too not to be forgotten forever!
hi guys, i know how much you are excited for some games, but dont you think it is just imitation to games like soul reaver and i include the famous GOD of War. the Graphics is great but the game's idea was taken and the game play too from SR!!.
I think its a stretch to say that it is an imitation of either of those games. They definitely share some features, but it seems like the game is going to play a little differently then GoW and Soul Reaver. Soul Reaver had no inventory management, no side quests, and the combat did not have as much depth as this game will have. The combat has more in common with GoW, but the main difference between GoW and Darksiders is the inventory management system and the idea of side quests. I think when this game releases people are going to realize that this is not a GoW carbon copy, but a mix of what we love from a couple different genres (GoW, Zelda, Diablo loot management).
yup am playing through the first one right now and am quite loving it. The Bosses are awesome to fight with and hard but not impossible.
@diablonn I also got it recently and it is amazing. If the campaign is 25hrs long I will be very pleased
If the combat is good and the Puzzles are challenging and their are awsome boss fights then its the game for me
oh man if they can get the RPG elements work well with the action the first one had
this games gonna be great!
