A better Mario Kart rip-off than Mario Kart itself.

Its sometime around 1998? or possibly 1999? anyway CTR hit the shelves to a great reception, its simple and fun formula proved a big hit for Naughty Dog, and it was the game that made my mum pick up a controller pad for the first time ever. It was hugely accessible and easy to learn and enjoy.

I'm afraid that was 1998. Ten years on and Crash has struck again but this time on the PSN as a downloadable game, the question is, is it actually worth it?

It all depends on how you see it really, on one hand it's actually quite exciting to see some decent content being uploaded onto the PSN, in a matter of fact, it's brilliant content, on the other hand however, it is a decade year old PS1 game that should be collecting layers of amounting dust in some attic somewhere.

Personally, I think it's fantastic, though slightly pricey at £3.49, I do think CTR is one of those games that can never be forgotten. I also think so many other games very similar to this have come out in the past decade since it's release, even Mario Kart, but I still think this is the best available.

I sees the reuinion of all Crash characters including Cortex and Tiny Tiger and sees them racing around themed tracks from the Crash universe. Why? Because Nitrous Oxide will turn the planet into a concrete parking lot if you don't! Duuuh! Why else would you want to race, really?

Everything from the original classic is here, the tracks, the adventure mode and a game with split screen - with bots! I rejoice whenever I come across a good split screen games now a days as few of them have actual bots to play against. Resistance? Nope. Call of Duty 4? No. Halo 3? You serious? It now seems to be an old fashioned trait split screen with bots.

Multiplayer is fun as you take part in cups and leagues and its competitive and highly enjoyable. The weapons and power-ups you can collect whilst racing are still some of the msot comedic ever, like bowling bombs and cosmos laser balls! OOO!

If you've never owned this game, or even lost it, £3.49 is a small price to pay for of the most enjoyable kart racers ever created. dver other riteration of this franchise not under Naughty Dog's helm has been utter parp (Crash Tag team, Crash Nitro Kart) and will never live up to this downloadable original.
