A fun, exciting and definitely different game from anything else I have seen before!

I love the Banjo-Kazooie series, but when you look at Rare games, the words that come into mind are cute, cuddly and certainly directed at children. But this game isn't, its a whole new thing...

When Conkers Bad Fur Day was being in development, it was going to be the same old thing, it was going to be another one of those boring children's game. But the whole thing changed. Rare decided to take a turn into somewhere where they never went before. The game ended up having blood, guts, gore, swearing, and plenty and plenty of poo...

Sure, the game has the same graphics and even the same concept of everything having eyes but thats pretty much the only things this game resembles compared to others.

I loved this game, I heard of it before but I never completely knew what it was. And sure, when I heard of it I though it was going to be like Banjo-Kazooie. But when I played it, it was completely different.

The plot of the game is really short, I finished it in about a two or three days. The plot is also not that interesting to me, its just about Conker going to a bar and wandering to the middle of nowhere. Kinda crappy to me.

But what happens in this game is what I truly love. The concept of not having to backtrack with items to get collectibles is a true live saver. In DK-64 you have 5 friggin characters which caused MAJOR backtracking. In this game there are no collectibles and no items. Well not exactly, you have to step on a context-sensitive pad to bring out an items from nowhere and use it in the particular area.

Now some people might not have liked the cutscenes for how long they look, but I enjoyed them. They had good voice acting and the cutscenes were funny with the occasional swearing.

Some part of the game are so hilarious, when Conker gets money, his eyes roll with cash signs. The parodies this game contain are great, there are so many parodies of movies/games. And some cutscenes are hysterical.

In Banjo-Kazooie, you had worlds, where each world was a different place/theme. In this game there are no worlds, but there are different areas which are sort of like worlds but easier since you can just simply walk through there instead of collecting jiggies to unlock one. Some of the worlds are so fun, theres an area that is in war where Conker has two assault guns and he shoots the crap out of teddies. There another where the whole place is full of poo and you have to walk around and swim in poo water.

Not only the blood and gore is in this, but Conker gets drunk several times, there is also a rave party he goes to. Now the surprising thing I found about that was, is that the music there was really good and realistic to what real people would have. IMO that right there is the best music in the whole game. The music of this game isn't entirely the best like some of the areas which are just pretty simple.

I have personally never experienced the multiplayer since I use an emulator, but I've heard it is really good, there are lots of modes and weapons to choose and use from.

The graphics of the game are great (back in those days). When the game was re-made on the Xbox, IMO it looks worse than what the N64 had. I mean, it didn't look right at all, Conker looked terrible...

But nonetheless, with all the things I disliked, the game is still great. If you have a N64, get it, it is a must have game. Or get the game on an emulator and try it out. Its super fun.
